Pic_Index Registration Conditions

THE FORM ON THIS PAGE WILL ONLY WORK WITH RISC OS MACHINES

Pic_Index is ShareWare.

This means that, in order to continue using it, you are obliged to pay a registration fee of 15 Euro or 10 GBP, preferably sent by post enclosed in opaque paper within an envelope (to avoid theft), to my address, which I will send to you when you agree to these conditions, or to my PayPal account, the e-mail address of which will be sent also.

I will only accept notes for 15 Euro or 10 GBP. No other form of payment will be acceptable at all except PayPal.

This is due to the extra costs incurred in cashing cheques and money orders, even between EEC countries using the Euro.

In the UK, you may obtain Euro through your Post Office, elsewhere at a Bureau de Change, or speak to someone you know who has been to any European country recently.

For those worried about sending cash by post, if you get 'proof of posting', I will indemnify you against possible loss.

Please e-mail me when you post your shareware contribution, so that I know it's coming (if I'm away, someone checks the post - hence the 'mark your envelope "PIC_INDEX"' below - to verify payment!).

At least 10% of this amount will be donated to a charity of my choice (probably ActionAid), and the rest will be used to upgrade equipment necessary to keep Pic_Index up-to-date and to defray the costs of distribution and maintenance (perhaps a proportion of my internet costs).

In return, you will receive by e-mail a text file which, when placed within the application directory, will permit you to continue to use it and unlock its more advanced features.

You will agree that you will not disclose your registration details to anyone else, and that you will not pass on copies of the program to others, but refer them to the web site.

You will also be deemed to have agreed the terms of the disclaimer within the application.

Your registration fee will entitle you to download any updates for at least one calendar year from the date of registration, though after this I reserve the right to alter the conditions and, if I deem it necessary, demand a further contribution for continued access if development is continuing.

But I haven't done this yet! This is a catch-all for my dotage!

At present the program is protected by a registration code file without which the software will cease to permit some added functionality above the last public (PD) uncontrolled release (1.08) after a number of incarnations or a predetermined period.

This protection method may change in the future, but continued access for registered users to any upgrades will be guaranteed (subject to my continued ability to support it) for at least the first year after registration.

Should I become incapable of or unwilling to continue developing the application, I reserve the right to assign the source to another party who may (or may not!) be willing to take on the obligations of further development and honouring existing obligations. In other words, you're on your own then! That is, when the dementia sets in!

My current age is 61 and this may help you judge the likelihood of this!

I agree to these conditions and would like to register.
