Pic_Index and IBM-compatible PCs or 'Windows' machines
Pic_Index runs under RISC OS, an operating system which usually runs on a
different sort of computer.
It will not run on any other machine, unless you have a suitable emulator
program which mimics an appropriate RISC OS machine.
There are a number of such emulators available for the "PC", one of which
is Red Squirrel.
To use Pic_Index most effectively, setting this up to use RISC OS 3.7 or 4.02 would
be the most useful/effective.
A commercial version of this product, VirtualRPC, is available from VirtualAcorn.
The results which Pic_Index produces are in standard HTML web format, and can therefore
be used/viewed on any machine having adequate web capability - ie, a reasonably capable
web browser.
